In massive multiplayer games, lots of player's will be involved in the game. During a conflict, there will be lots of players involved in combat and a when a player faces death he might be confused about his death scenario i.e, about the way he was killed. This is sorted in many games by using the death camera. The death camera helps the player realize the cause of his death and he might learn ways to learn from his mistakes after his death.
EXAMPLES:
Battlefield 1:
Battlefield 1 usually has a game involving about 64 players playing the game simultaneously. This will result in many chaotic situations and many players might have been confused about their deaths if there was no death camera used. The death camera used in Battlefield highlights a player about his opponents position by highlighting him in red. This is done right after his death. In the screenshot below, I was killed by a sniper and this was highlighted as seen from the screenshot.

Example: Halo
when it comes to death cam "Halo" has very similar mechanic as "battlefield 1." In PVP "Halo" can get pretty crazy and its always helpful to know how and why you died. upon dying players will often be inform by the game on who kill them and where they got killed from. This is a super helpful feature because it helps the players realize what happened and how to avoid it next time.

Skyrim is a single-player role-playing video game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. Kill cameras are a game mechanic that allow players to kill enemies with a final, deadly, and cinematically delivered strike. Kill cameras can be done on almost every foe in the game. Characters are capable of performing cinematic kills on the Dragonborn or on other NPCs as well.
