It is very common in video games that a player completes a task that can be directly linked with something we do in real life.  This could be something as simple as opening a door or something more complex like playing a sport. It is beneficial when a game re-enforces these actions with sound, visual effects and in some cases motion.  It is becoming more common in games to have a physical action associated with a task that correlates with its real-life counterpart. When there is a strong connection between the action taking place on screen and a physical action the player performs, the game becomes an immersive experience.

Fruit Ninja - Fruit Ninja does a fantastic job creating a physical action that correlates well with its real-life counterpart.  The objective of the game is to slice fruit out of the air, and score as many points as possible.  There are many aspects of the game that provide feedback for the core mechanic of slicing.  For example when you slice a fruit there are gratifying sound effects and beautiful visuals of the fruit exploding. However, it is the physical action of swiping your finger that provides the greatest amount for immersion in the game.  All though swiping your finger is not the exact physical action you would use to slice fruit out of the air, it make is feel as though your body is an extension of the game and as if your finger itself is the sword.
