It is true that game design should want the player to continue playing the game. But not adding clean means of exit or hard to reach "quit" buttons, is not the way to do it. Such a design will force the player to hard quit denying the feeling of closure to the game experience. The player might get frustrated, especially if the game is being quit due to some real world emergency.
